Iranian oil shipments continue despite US blockade, 4 Iranian oil tankers pass through the Strait of Hormuz
According to a maritime monitoring company, Iranian oil shipments continue despite the US blockade and on Monday, 4 Iranian-flagged oil tankers passed through the Strait of Hormuz carrying Iranian oil.
The foreign news agency quoted marine tracking firm Clipper as saying that this was the first time Iranian oil tankers had crossed the Strait of Hormuz since April 15.
According to Clipper, the data released on Thursday recorded the movements of the tankers named Hilda I, Amber, Sylvia One and Happiness I, which were carrying a total of 7 million barrels of oil.
According to the report, all of these ships loaded oil from Iran’s main oil terminal, Kharg, in mid-April.
The ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday with their Automatic Identification System (AIS) turned off.
The report said that these tankers usually carry Iranian crude oil close to the coasts of Malaysia and Singapore, where the oil is transferred to other tankers at sea that deliver it to the final buyer, which is often China.
According to the Clapper, these four tankers continued their activities despite tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States, but they temporarily suspended operations after the US blockade of Iranian ports on April 13.
Earlier, on April 15, three other oil tankers affiliated with Iran also passed through, breaking the blockade, but no other ship has attempted to do so since then.
