Vision for Education Foundation (V4E) and the College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences (COAVS) have signed a Letter of Intent to expand corneal transplantation services in Punjab and help restore sight for patients suffering from corneal blindness.
The event was organized by Prof. Muhammad Moin, Principal COAVS and Pro-Vice Chancellor KEMU. It featured the transplantation of two donor corneas facilitated by V4E, while Prof. Moin also guided postgraduate trainees on corneal grafting techniques and surgical planning.
Speakers highlighted efforts to establish the Maqbool Ahmed Eye Bank and increase access to donor corneas. V4E President Nazim Rajani urged families to support cornea donation, while Director General PHOTA Prof. Muhammad Aamer Zaman Khan called for stronger transplantation laws. Vice Chancellor KEMU Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz welcomed the initiative and encouraged organ donation as a humanitarian service.
