Speaking in the National Assembly, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that after the dark night of war, the sun of peace has risen. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan will host the peace agreement ceremony to be held in Geneva between the US and Iran. I congratulate Pakistan and the entire world on this. Shehbaz Sharif further said that I am also deeply grateful to the party leadership, my party leader Nawaz Sharif, whose guidance is always available to me. I congratulate President Asif Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and all party leaders. This is not just an agreement between two countries, but it is a victory of peace and dialogue, it is a success of diplomacy and the destruction of war.

The Prime Minister said that in this esteemed chamber, I congratulate US President Trump, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, the Iranian President and all members of both teams participating in the peace process. The parties did not abandon their prudence, wisdom and patience in difficult circumstances. I pay tribute to the full cooperation of the Emir of Qatar in the delicate, difficult and patient process of negotiations. The Emir of Qatar played a very positive role. I am also grateful for the far-sighted leadership and strong cooperation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the President of Turkey.
