The head of the Iranian negotiating team, Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Oman to discuss the issue of the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaker Baqir Qalibaf said in his statement that it has been agreed to establish a communication system for the passage of ships to avoid any kind of conflict or tension in the Strait of Hormuz. He said that it has also been agreed to guarantee the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon based on the Switzerland negotiations.
It should be noted that the US Treasury Department has issued a 60-day temporary general license to Iran for the sale and delivery of oil, under which the production, delivery and sale of Iranian oil has been allowed, however, this exemption is temporary in nature and future steps will depend on the implementation of the promises made by Iran and the progress of the negotiations.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant says that sanctions on North Korea, Cuba and Ukraine from purchasing Iranian oil are still in place.
