A landmark achievement in postgraduate ENT education has been achieved with the inauguration of Punjab’s first-ever Temporal Bone Skills Lab in a government medical institution at Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC) and Jinnah Hospital Lahore.
The ceremony was attended by Guests of Honor Prof. Zubair Iqbal Bhutta and Prof. Kashif Iqbal Malik, along with former HOD ENT Prof. Shahid Imran, Prof. Rohail, Principal AIMC Prof. Tayyiba Wasim, Prof. Farhat Naz, Prof. Muniza Natiq, Prof. Ayub Mirza, Prof. Farooq Rana, Dr. Sadia Yasir and Dr. Sajjad Akram.
Established through philanthropic contributions, the state-of-the-art lab has been developed under the leadership of Prof. Irshad Malik, HOD ENT.
Prof. Irshad Malik said the facility would provide ENT trainees with a controlled and supervised environment to develop practical skills for complex ear and skull-base procedures, improving surgical precision, confidence and patient safety.
Prof. Tayyiba Wasim appreciated the initiative and described it as a collective achievement of the ENT team, faculty members, philanthropists and all those who contributed to making the facility a reality.
The new Temporal Bone Skills Lab marks a significant step forward in simulation-based surgical training, strengthening postgraduate ENT education and promoting excellence in patient care across Punjab’s public-sector healthcare system.
