According to FIFA’s latest rankings for June 2026, Argentina has regained top spot in the world rankings for the first time since July 2025. Spain remains in second place in the rankings, while France has dropped two places to third.
On the other hand, Morocco has achieved its best ever ranking, moving up to seventh place. Morocco is now the highest-ranked team in Africa and the Arab world, while the Netherlands has dropped one place to eighth.
The Pakistan football team is also among the teams that have shown significant improvement. Pakistan has moved up four places from 202nd to 198th.
According to FIFA, this world ranking will also be used as a tiebreaker in the group stage of the World Cup.
