Budget: Several items included in the Third Schedule, what will be expensive with the implementation of GST?
According to the Finance Bill, including these items in the Third Schedule will generate an additional revenue of Rs 70 billion.
With the implementation of the General Sales Tax, milk, dairy products, sweets, jam, jelly, ketchup, spices, edible oil, ghee, crockery, hair oil, shampoo, shoes, perfume, body spray, bakery items and plastic household items, including sanitary products, will also become expensive.
In addition, suitcases, cameras, kitchenware, travel bags, e-cigarettes, agricultural medicines, and disinfectant products will become expensive.
An increase in the tax rate on luxury electric vehicles will generate Rs 25 billion, while eliminating the profit gap between industrial and commercial importers will generate an additional tax of Rs 30 billion in the national exchequer.
