Cryptocurrency is permissible, fatwa was issued 13 months ago: Chairman Saylani Welfare Maulana Bashir Farooq
After media reports regarding cryptocurrency, an emergency meeting was held at Saylani Head Office, which was chaired by Founder and Chairman Saylani Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooq Qadri.
The meeting was also attended by experts associated with blockchain, Chief Mufti Mufti Waseem Akhtar Al-Madani. The discussion regarding the permissibility or illegality of cryptocurrency was reviewed in the meeting.
In this regard, Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri said that cryptocurrency is permissible, fatwa was issued 13 months ago, the fatwa has been sent to the Islamic Ideology Council, State Bank and the relevant ministry.
He added that Saylani is in line with the state’s policy because many countries in the world are transacting in crypto.
