The Mexican team had a heavy burden against South Africa in the opening match of the Football World Cup played at the historic stadium Estadio Estetica in Mexico City.
In the 9th minute, Mexico’s Yohan Koi Nonance managed to put the team ahead by putting the ball into the opponent’s net with a move.
Mexico also had a few more chances in this half, but they could not convert them into goals, the match was 0-1 in Mexico’s favor until the break.
The Mexican team also started the second half aggressively. At the beginning of this half, the Mexican player was brought down by South African defender Seth Holle through a dangerous foul, on which the referee showed him a red card and sent him off the field.
Mexico also got a free kick for this foul, but the goal could not be scored.
However, in the 67th minute, Mexico had a chance to double their lead when Raul headed the ball into the South African net from a pass. Neither team scored in the remaining time and the match ended 0-2 in Mexico’s favor.
During the match, the referee showed two South African players red cards while one Mexican player was sent off the field with a red card.
