Tehran: Iran has rejected reports claiming that Tehran has agreed to a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. According to the Iranian news agency Fars, informed sources have clarified that Iran has not changed its current policy regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
The report states that some foreign and anti-Iranian media outlets had claimed that Iran had agreed to a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, however, responsible sources have called these reports baseless. According to Fars News, sources say that Iran’s position regarding the important and strategic sea route like the Strait of Hormuz remains the same as before and no new developments or changes have been decided in it.
The sources further said that the news circulating in this regard is not based on reality and an attempt is being made to create a wrong impression about Iran’s policy.
This statement comes at a time when the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is the center of global attention, as it is one of the most important shipping lanes in the world and a large amount of global oil and gas passes through this route.
