Lahore General Hospital (LGH) organized a one-day workshop titled “ECG Diagnosis in Acute Medicine and ICU†at Medical Unit-III to enhance ECG interpretation and emergency cardiac care skills among young doctors._x000D_
Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal, said accurate ECG diagnosis in Emergency and ICU is vital for timely treatment and saving patients’ lives, emphasizing the need for continuous training amid the rising burden of heart diseases._x000D_
Prof. Dr. Khurram Saleem conducted practical sessions on ECG interpretation, acute coronary syndrome, life-threatening arrhythmias, electrolyte imbalance, and ICU-related cardiac changes in line with international guidelines. Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Maqsood stressed that ECG expertise is indispensable for physicians working in emergency and critical care._x000D_
The workshop was attended by postgraduate trainees, young doctors, and medical students, who received hands-on training through clinical case discussions and sample ECG reports. Organizers pledged to continue similar academic training programmes in the future.
