Philanthropists have donated medicines worth Rs50 lakh to Lahore General Hospital (LGH), which will be distributed free of cost among deserving OPD patients.
Principal Postgraduate Medical Institute Prof. Dr Farooq Afzal appreciated the donors’ support, saying such contributions provide immediate relief to poor patients and strengthen public confidence in government hospitals.
MS LGH Prof. Dr Faryad Hussain assured that the medicines would be distributed transparently to deserving patients. He said the hospital pharmacy would provide medicines from 8am to 8pm daily for the convenience of more than 5,000 OPD patients visiting LGH each day.
Prof. Farooq Afzal stressed that cooperation among the government, medical community and philanthropists is essential for improving public healthcare facilities. The donors also pledged continued support to LGH.
