Argentine star Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick in the World Cup against Algeria today, giving his team a stunning victory, while also setting several new records.

According to FIFA records, Messi became the first player to score a hat-trick in the history of the mega event, while at the age of 38 years and 357 days, he also became the oldest player to achieve this feat in the World Cup.

Argentina’s Messi also equaled the record of Germany’s Miroslav Klose, who scored the most goals in World Cup history with 16.
