Negotiations with the government fail, Petrol Pump Association announces closure of petrol pumps

A video statement issued by General Secretary All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Association Noman Ali Butt said that our negotiations with the Ministry of Petroleum have failed.

He said that changes in the prices of petroleum products on a daily basis are not acceptable under any circumstances, and we reject the government’s proposed daily price mechanism.

Noman Ali Butt said that after the failure of negotiations, petrol pumps across Pakistan will remain closed for an indefinite period from 12 o’clock tomorrow night.

It should be remembered that the government had decided that under the new pricing mechanism of petroleum products, OGRA will now issue ex-depot prices of petrol and high-speed diesel daily.

Under the new mechanism, OGRA will determine new prices based on the average global prices of the last 7 days, while the prices already issued on Saturdays and Sundays will remain unchanged.
