Increase in match fees of national cricket team players, PSL 12 budget also approved
The PCB Board of Governors held a meeting under the chairmanship of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, during which the surplus budget for the financial year 2027-2026 was unanimously approved.
The meeting also approved making PSL administratively and financially independent and the budget for PSL 12, while it was also decided to increase the budget for domestic cricket in the country from Rs 3 billion to Rs 4 billion.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also approved the format and payment method of the new central contract and the increase in match fees for national cricket team players in the meeting.
How much match fee will each player receive?
Sources say that the match fee of those playing Test cricket will be Rs 1.5 million, while those playing ODIs will receive Rs 6.5 million and those playing T20s will receive Rs 4.5 million per match.
According to sources, players playing ODI and Test cricket will be included in the A and B categories. A Test player in the A category will get a match fee of Rs 1.5 million, while a player playing ODI in the A category will get Rs 7.5 million per match. Similarly, those playing T20 in the A category will get a match fee of Rs 6.5 million.
Sources say that a player playing ODI in the B category will get Rs 7.5 million and a player playing T20 will get Rs 5 million. Players in the C category will only play T20, whose match fee will be Rs 5 million. Even if a player in the C category plays ODI, he will get a match fee of Rs 5 million.
The PCB Board of Governors also approved increasing the match fee of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy players from Rs 30,000 to Rs 100,000, while the match fee of reserve players from Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000.
The Board of Governors also approved the holding of Women’s One-Day and T20 tournaments and the allocation of funds in this regard, while it was also decided to increase the minimum salary of regional ground staff to Rs 42,000.
The meeting approved Rs 6.7 billion for operationalizing 12 more grounds and upgrading other infrastructure including the National Stadium, while approval was also given to allocate funds for installing a biomechanics machine in the High Performance Center Lahore.
