SLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread dust storms, strong winds, rain and thunderstorms across large parts of the country from June 11 to June 13, warning of possible urban flooding, landslides and damage to infrastructure._x000D_

According to the PMD, a western weather system is expected to enter the upper regions of Pakistan on June 11 and remain active until June 13. At the same time, moist winds from the Arabian Sea are likely to penetrate the upper and central parts of the country._x000D_

Under the influence of this weather system, intermittent dust storms, gusty winds, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated areas may also experience heavy rainfall and hailstorms._x000D_

Rain and thunderstorms have also been forecast for northeastern Balochistan, while upper Sindh is expected to experience dust storms and strong winds during the period._x000D_

The Met Office warned that strong winds, hailstorms and lightning could damage vulnerable structures, solar panels, electricity poles and billboards._x000D_

Authorities also cautioned that heavy rainfall may trigger urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Faisalabad._x000D_

In northern regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the risk of landslides is expected to increase due to heavy rainfall in mountainous terrain._x000D_

The PMD has advised farmers to take precautionary measures to protect crops, while tourists and travellers have been urged to avoid unnecessary journeys and remain updated on weather conditions.
