Sahiwal Medical College hosted its first Sahilites Annual Research and Medical Education Conference (SARMEC 2026), bringing together senior professors, medical educationists and young researchers to discuss medical research, education, innovation, AI and postgraduate training.
The conference was held under the patronage of Principal Prof. Dr. Akhtar Malik, with Prof. Dr. Rao Riaz-ul-Haq as Chief Organizer and Dr. Nauman Aziz among the organizing committee members.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Senior Vice President CPSP and Chair International Committee, attended as Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Uzair Qureshi spoke on research methodology and the role of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, while Prof. Dr. Gondal highlighted challenges in postgraduate medical education and CPSP’s national and international contributions.
Prof. Dr. Akhtar Malik said the conference aimed to promote research, modern medical education and innovation, while providing a platform for teachers and young doctors.
Winners of Poster Presentations and Research Articles received awards. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Rao Riaz-ul-Haq.
Later, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal and Prof. Dr. Akhtar Malik met Commissioner Sahiwal Dr. Asif Tufail, who appreciated the quality healthcare services provided by Sahiwal Medical College.
