The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has launched its state-of-the-art Clinical Laboratory Services (CLS) to provide high-quality, reliable and affordable diagnostic services to the general public, hospitals and healthcare institutions across Punjab.
Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique inaugurated the facility, describing it as a significant milestone for the province’s healthcare sector. He said the laboratory would strengthen diagnostic services, improve patient care and support medical education and research in line with the government’s vision of modern healthcare.
UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Ahsan Waheed Rathore said the laboratory offers more than 178 routine and specialized diagnostic tests, including molecular diagnostics, genetic testing, PCR-based investigations, histopathology, hormone profiling, tumour marker assays and other advanced laboratory services.
He added that the facility will not only provide accurate and timely diagnostic services but will also serve as a major research platform for postgraduate students pursuing MD, MS, MPhil and PhD programmes by providing access to quality clinical samples and advanced laboratory facilities.
The laboratory is registered with the Punjab Healthcare Commission, certified under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, and equipped with a modern Laboratory Information System (LIS) to ensure accurate, reliable and timely reporting of test results.
